Jurgen Klopp says now is the time for Liverpool’s talking to stop as he demanded a huge improvement from his players at Chelsea. Speaking ahead of the visit to Chelsea, Klopp called for his team to muster a real reaction at Stamford Bridge as the Londoners prepare to welcome their visitors having sacked manager Graham Potter on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp said: “Over the period we had so many meetings, as you can imagine, you win a game and three days later the next game you have a short talk, bang, bang, bang – ‘that was good, that was what we have to keep going’ – and then carry on, prepare for the next game. When it is not going well you cannot just go over it like this, so that is what I mean with meetings. You have so many meetings. We have so many meetings but it is not about talking anymore but delivering, it is about doing. That is what the message was actually. Over the season we spoke about everything pretty much 100% on one specific point, just because on the table it is clear, you have to. You cannot just close your eyes and hope it gets better. It is about us to deliver. In moments you have to talk but I don’t think there is anyone there really who can explain the drop [in level] between the two halves [at Man City]. They know what happened, we conceded a goal in a very bad way and conceded the next one and then the whole game is gone. So this meeting would have been rather about what happened and not so much about what has to happen and we are now preparing for Chelsea and it is much more important what we have to do and we need to have these talks as well And that is what will happen today – talking about Chelsea because on the training pitch we cannot do an awful lot.”
