Everton defender James Tarkowski has revealed Sean Dyche is “walking around singing” ahead of their final day relegation battle with Leicester City and Leeds United.

The Toffees must win to secure their Premier League status, and any other result would play into Leicester’s hands if they can beat West Ham at the King Power Stadium.

Speaking ahead of Everton’s match against Bournemouth, Tarkowski has revealed how Dyche is feeling and what messages he has been giving his players ahead of such a vital day for all three clubs in the relegation battle.

James Tarkowski said: “If you see the manager he’s walking around singing! He’s calm and relaxed. That’s just the way he is and I think that rubs off on us in a good way. We’ve won some big games, for example the Brighton game and he remained very calm; then we’ve been beaten in other games and he’s remained very calm. Not getting too high or low is very important. It’s definitely helped me and I’m sure it has with everyone else, too. He’s got a way of delivering messages on the training pitch and around the place. You soak them up, take them in and it ends up becoming a mindset. The manager has got a list of team beliefs, which are good. ‘Be relentless’ is one of the big ones and ‘The minimum requirement is maximum effort’ is another he loves. Then there are a few I can’t repeat.”
