Nigel Clough predicted that Aston Villa would win the premier league but he also said that he was hoping that they would slip up against their side the next day. A win would put Villa on the top of the table and push Forest further into the relegation mire but Clough was confident that they could deal a huge blow to the Midland’s side.
Nigel Clough said “I’d like to see Aston Villa lift the championship but I hope they do it with no help from us because we need the points more desperately then they do. A lot of people feel Manchester United deserve to take it after missing out last season but Villa have been playing some great football as well and I think it would be nice if they won it.”
