Manchester United striker Eric Cantona felt that his team had a chance as good as anyone to become European Champions that season. He also revealed post the win over Arsenal earlier that week that the whole United team watched the Serie A match between Lazio and Inter Milan and they couldn’t stop chuckling due to the lack of pace in the game.
Eric Cantona said “An hour before the game, in the dressing room, all the team watched the Lazio Inter match on TV. It made us laugh, it was played at three miles an hour. Against us, the Italians wouldn’t understand. They’d be able to control the ball with their cute little touches, but it would take them half an hour to realize we were too quick for them. Against Marsellie, under normal circumstances, we’d win by five goals.”
