In a rare show of solidarity, all the big premier league clubs along with other prominent clubs of North England had come together to support Manchester’s bid to host the Summer Olympics in the year 2000. Although if such a move was granted likes of Anfield of Liverpool and Goodison park of Everton were likely to host many matches of the games as only Old Trafford would have the facilities to play football matches in the host city.

Considering summer 2000 Olympics was likely to have the first women’s football games as well, Newcastle, Sunderland, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and even Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest were likely to see games at their stadium as part of the fixtures.
