Graeme Souness said that the biggest dangers that some of the younger stars of his Liverpool team faced was getting caught up in the attention and glory that came along with being a Liverpool player. He was talking about Robbie Fowler and Dominic Mateo after confirming that they will be starting in the league cup tie against Ipswich.
Graeme Souness said ‘’There is always the danger, unfortunately, young players’ form goes up and down and you have to guard against that. Hopefully, by the time we need to give them a rest, other players will be back fit. We are really glad with their progress and hope that they can go on to become the main men rather than being on the fringe. If you look around Europe, more and more young players will be getting chances due to injuries.’’
