David Moyes seemingly pleaded for patience  as he believes he will need at least three to four months with his current crop of players at West Ham before he can truly form a consistent opinion of them and  play the way he would like them.

David Moyes said “I’d say three to four months really before you get to know them, understand them. My last time here, I just got to know what I think we had, who we wanted to move on and change, ideal players to bring in. I am really keen on knowing how Lanzini, who was brilliant for me last time I was here, has had a bad injury, a shoulder injury, isn’t playing as much. It takes time to find out if players can do things slightly different or not. It’s going to take a few weeks and will probably be up and down until I do.”

Moyes has been back at the club less than a week but has already got off to a winning start as his charges demolished Bournemouth 4-0 on New Year’s Day. Eight players who were with Moyes the last time he was in east London are still at the club and the manager has been leaning on those players to get his methods and message across to the players who joined under Manuel Pellegrini.
