Ipswich Town football club is set to get a go-ahead to keep Bulgarian midfielder Boncho Genchev after wrangles over a work permit. Genchev, who was set to play in the third round of the FA cup was signed for £250000 from Sporting Lisbon in November 1992. He obtained a work permit from the home office on the understanding that he was an established Bulgarian international, but investigations revealed that he had only one full cap.
