Denis Irwin got the George Best seal of approval in Manchester United’s onslaught to win the premier league title. Best, one of the legends of United’s previous championship success in 1967 was full of praise for the Republic of Ireland full-back, he said, “Denis is one of the unsung heroes of this present team. He is very underrated but his class is there for all to see.”
