Howard Kendall outlined Everton’s three steps to a Bank Holiday disaster. After an alarming Easter Monday drubbing by QPR – the Blues’ boss pointed to three key reasons for the reverse.

Howard Kendall said “Whatever I say today will be constructed as an excuse. But you have to look for reasons and analyse the performance and why we were so flat. We were outgunned by a striker’s performance as good as anything I have seed this season. That I though was the first time out central defensive partnership have been outgunned like that. The long lay off followed by two very hard games in three days was another factor. The players have all held their hands up, but I am not going to turn around and publically slam them who have been outstanding all season. This was a one off for me.”
