QPR manager Gerry Francis and Les Ferdinand himself slammed the door shut on any ambitious clubs wanting to follow Newcastle United’s example and make a huge bid for the 26-year-old striker. Francis said “This club doesn’t have to sell, Ferdinand, Sinton and Bardsley have all recently signed new contracts. I expect a little loyalty in return. I expect people to honour their contracts.” Ferdinand too swatted any speculation away and said: “I just want to get on with my job here or I’ll be dropped.”
