David Moyes has said West Ham’s players are “ready to go” with small group training which is due to get underway today at Rush Green. West Ham and the other 19 Premier League clubs all passed a vote on Monday to introduce phase one of a return to training for Project Restart which will involve small group training of no more than five players, all maintaining social distancing of two metres and will last no longer than 75 minutes.

Last week, the Hammers were one of the first Premier League clubs to install a health screening and temperature check tent inside the gates at the training ground which every person must go through before being allowed to enter Rush Green. Moyes and first team coach Kevin Nolan have been on site in recent days, from a social distance of course, to keep an eye on those who have been to the training ground.

David Moyes said: “Like everyone, the players and coaching staff have understandably missed football but this is an unprecedented situation and we totally understand and respect the measures that are in place. A lot of work has been carried out by our excellent medical and coaching staff on routines and programmes in anticipation of a return to small group training, and we are ready to go. The health and safety of our players and staff will continue to be our priority at all times.”
