Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl hailed the efforts of his back four to keep quiet red-hot frontman Dominic Calvert Lewin on Sunday. The Everton forward had scored 11 goals in 10 games for club and county going into the contest at St Mary’s. But with Saints sealing a convincing 2-0 victory, England striker Calvert-Lewin barely had a kick against Hasenhuttl’s hosts. sked how his side managed to contain the in-form striker, Hasenhuttl said: “He is strong when he gets the ball in the spaces he needs, so the first thing is that you block the passes – that he doesn’t get the chances.

Ralph Hasenhuttl said “The rest is about defending in and around the box and I think the back four did fantastic. It was the reason why it was so tough for him.”
