Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has said that he has had an “open dialogue” with Leicester City target Jack Harrison amid talk over his future. Harrison has now emerged as another target, with the player able to provide competition on both the left and right side of midfield. Amid talk over his future, the Leeds man started the Whites’ FA Cup clash against Accrington Stanley, scoring one and assisting another in a 3-1 win.

Following the match, Marsch spoke out about the interest in Harrison and his enjoyment of working with the player.

Jesse Marsh said: “Listen, all I’ll say is, I really like Jack first as a person. He’s one of the most incredible people I’ve ever coached. We like him here. We want to keep him. He’s performing really well. I think getting him fit and healthy has been a big key. He’s got flexibility in the way he plays.”

Speaking specifically about City’s interest, Marsch revealed that he has been in dialogue with the player over the talks about his future.

Jesse Marsh added: “You know, when things start circulating, it’s never so easy to just stay focused on what your job is, but I’ve tried to have open dialogue with him and be very honest with him and we have that kind of relationship. And then, you know, he does like it here. You know, that’s all I can say. It’s not like he’s itching to leave.”

Harrison has played a total of 20 times in all competitions for Leeds so far this season, scoring twice and providing a further seven assists. He has just 18 months remaining on his deal at Elland Road, but Leeds are said to be keen to extend the deal after the transfer window.
