#PLStories- Thomas Frank dismisses Brentford advantage over Leicester City due to European fixtures #BRENTFORDFC #LCFC

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has dismissed the idea that his team could have an advantage over Leicester City after their midweek European adventure. City travelled to Russia to take on Spartak Moscow on Wednesday afternoon, with four goals from Patson Daka giving Brendan Rodgers’ side a 4-3 win over their opponents in a crucial group C game.

Thomas Frank said: “No. I’m pretty sure they are well-trained and fit, and they have a strong squad and they will rotate a few players. I’m pretty sure Vardy will start! I think when you have three days, no problem. Two days, you could say a tiny bit but I know we played 20 games Saturday-Tuesday/Wednesday in a row last year, managed to keep a better intensity in some games. They will be fine and ready – I’m 100% sure.”

City go into the game off the back of two positive results, as well as scoring four against Spartak, the Foxes netted four vs Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United in their last Premier League outing as they came out as 4-2 winners. Leicester have overcome Brentford in the last two seasons, meeting the Bees in the FA Cup on both occasions. Goals from Cengiz Under, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison gave Rodgers’ side a 3-1 win at the Brentford Community Stadium last season on the side’s way to lifting their first ever FA Cup.

The squad returned to England after the game and have had two days of training to prepare for the Premier League clash against Brentford. While City were in European action, the Bees had all week to concentrate on this weekend’s game. However, Frank believes that the strength and fitness of Rodgers’ squad will mean that the midweek trip won’t be a factor in Sunday’s match.
