Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted that it was nice to be linked with Arsenal.
Thomas Frank said: “So, I understand that well, but… Arsenal and United. Wasn’t that how it was? I think I read that at some point. It’s very nice, but one thing is rumours, and the other is if they really wanted to contact me. Then we have to take it from there. I have a contact until 2023. I’m insanely happy at Brentford. It’s (a) club that means a lot to me and where I have had great times. I enjoy working with our director of football, owners, players, staff and fans. It’s the club who must come to me, but now we must see what the future brings. I know we have a mutual respect and a good relationship with each other on that.”
Frank has done a magnificent job since taking over from Dean Smith at the west London club back in 2018. The Danish coach secured the club’s first-ever promotion to the Premier League last season as the Bees defeated Swansea City 2-0 in the play-off final. Now, Brentford have enjoyed a solid start to life in the English top-flight, losing just one of their opening seven fixtures, a remarkable return that sees them currently in seventh place in the standings – two points above Arsenal in 11th. However, the former Brondby boss played down talk of an exit from the Community Stadium, although he did admit that it’s very nice to be linked with a move to the north London club.
