Brendan Rodgers has already made his feelings on Tottenham’s hierarchy perfectly clear, if previous comments are anything to go by.

Brendan Rodgers said: “They are a great club and one of the things I looked at was their history. They’d had 11 managers in 18 years there, so for someone like myself, who needed to create something, I needed to go to a club that was going to give us that opportunity.”

Fast-forward to the present day and Rodgers has stated that he remains focused on his job at Leicester.

Brendan Rodgers said: “Tottenham is a fantastic club, it’s one of the big clubs in this country, it’s a huge club. My focus is purely here. I’m at a world-class training facility, the project we’re in here, we still want to develop, we still have a lot of work to do here. I have a great connection with the players and the board, and we have plans to keep progressing.”

Ryan Mason is the current caretaker manager at Spurs and has had a hectic opening few days to life as a boss. Mason took charge of his first game last week against Southampton, with Spurs winning 2-1, but then led his side to defeat against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at the weekend.

The Leicester City boss has completely transformed the Foxes since moving to the King Power Stadium in 2019, with the side now challenging for the Champions League places. Rodgers in 2012 before he left Swansea City for Anfield, but Levy ended up hiring Andre Villas-Boas instead. However, just 18 months later, Villas-Boas was relieved of his duties following a 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, masterminded by Rodgers.
