Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba were both withdrawn for Manchester United against Granada due to slight fears over injuries, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said “Marcus, as we spoke about, his foot is a bit sore. Paul had a bit of a niggle but we should be okay. It was not a perfect night. We got three yellow cards and three suspensions. 2-0 is very good result. We know how difficult it is to come to Spain. We’ve got to play well to get a result. They [Rashford and Fernandes] have been exceptional, so important for us. It was a very good run by Rashford, takes the ball fantastically. Bruno is so confident on penalties even though the keeper almost saved it. Same as always [attitude for next week]. We want to win every game. It’s still a young team, a learning team. We have to improve all the time. Football catches you so quickly if you rest. We can’t have any other approach.”
United beat the Spanish outfit 2-0 in their Europa League quarter-final first leg, with Rashford and Bruno Fernandes on target. Rashford, Pogba and Luke Shaw were all withdrawn by Solskjaer during the game, but the United boss was confident none had suffered long-term injuries. He confirmed his pre-match assessment that Rashford was not 100 per cent fit. The England international had been withdrawn on Sunday against Brighton amid injury fears.
