Jurgen Klopp believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain can become an attacking option for Liverpool during the remainder of the season.

Jurgen Klopp said: “He can do that, he did that against West Ham away as well, he came on there and did really well. It’s an option. Ox is obviously a versatile player and definitely more offensive-oriented, and it’s a very offensive position for him with the speed, technique, the moves and turns, he is able to do the acceleration, it’s a good position. It wasn’t only for that. He hasn’t played there 500 times obviously, but we knew because of the West Ham game that it can be good for him, and that’s why he came on at Wolves. He was impressive. Even though it was three weeks ago, it was good.”

Klopp has options in attack for the trip to the Emirates, with Roberto Firmino back available having been sidelined by a knee problem. Liverpool resume their Premier League campaign in seventh place, five points off a top-four place with only nine games remaining. And the Reds boss is adamant Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg at Real Madrid will not influence his team selection.

Jurgen Klopp said: “All the ones who were fit before the international break are still available, plus Bobby. That’s the situation. That’s what I will give consideration to, not the Real Madrid game – yet.”

Liverpool have won six of their last seven games away from Anfield but haven’t triumphed at Arsenal since the opening day of the 2016/17 season, and were beaten on penalties by the Gunners in the Community Shield in August and the Carabao Cup in October.
