#PLStories- Burnley boss #SeanDyche admits goal gift from Arsenal was a reward for team hard work #BurnleyFC

BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche felt his side’s bizarre goal in their draw with Arsenal was a reward for how the Clarets took the game to the Gunners.

Sean Dyche said: “They started brightly. We weren’t miles off but our purpose and conviction showed in the second half. We let in a soft goal but we pressed really well for our goal and that was part of our intention in the team performance. Against popular belief we don’t always just wait for our chance. We try and get after teams on the front foot. Woody gets his reward for being in the right place at the right time and pressing. It hits him and goes in, and he gets the reward for what the team do.”

Aubameyang spearheaded attack after attack in the first half and needed only six minutes to make it six goals from his last five starts, cutting in from the left to hit a low shot which Nick Pope could not keep out at his near post. For 38 minutes it seemed the only question was how many Arsenal might score as they poured forward following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s sixth-minute opener. But it all changed seven minutes before the break when Granit Xhaka took a short pass from Bernd Leno while facing his own goal.
