WOLVES boss Nuno Espirito Santo insists he “didn’t see” the controversial incident which led to his side being awarded a penalty at St Mary’s. With Saints a goal up and looking comfortable, the visitors were awarded a spot-kick for handball after Nelson Semedo’s shot struck the arm of Ryan Bertrand. Saints’ players and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl protested, but the decision stood, allowing Ruben Neves the chance to equalise. Pedro Neto then completed the turnaround, earning his side a 2-1 win.

Asked for his take on the penalty decision, Nuno Espirito Santo said: “I didn’t see the images yet, there are many people better than me to judge. What I saw was good action on the wide areas, and I was looking for my players in the box. I would not be fair if I am to judge that. The second goal was a huge moment for us. I’m pleased because I know how difficult it is to play here against such a good team like Southampton. And the way we adjusted, there were many negatives to correct, and we managed to do that.”
