Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed Patrick Cutrone is set to join Valencia on loan until the end of the season. Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed to let Cutrone head out on loan following the arrival of Brazilian striker Willian Jose, who started the 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Premier League today. There’s been interest from Italian clubs in Cutrone but Valencia appears to be the player’s destination of choice after a brief return to his parent club.

Nuno Espirito Santo said: “I cannot say too much until things are done and clear, but I’m not going to lie to you. I hope that things are almost solved. He will probably join Valencia until the end

Cutrone returned to Wolves from an unsuccessful loan spell at Fiorentina earlier this month and Nuno has used him four times in total. The 23-year-old was an unused substitute in Wednesday’s draw with Chelsea but he wasn’t involved at Selhurst Park as his move to Spain draws closer.

Nuno Espirito Santo added: “We recalled Patrick to help us and to help him, regarding the situation he was in at Fiorentina. He was here for a couple of weeks. Clearly, with the arrival of Willian, Patrick expected to have more minutes so he’s joining another club.”

His replacement in the squad, Willian, twice went close against Palace but he fired a blank in Wolves’ latest Premier League setback. Nuno was encouraged by his new striker’s full debut though.

Nuno Espirito Santo said: “He had good movements and a couple of chances. Honestly, I think he will be a good option and give us a big help.”
