#PL- Stories- #SamAllardyce urges #SamField to take his chances when they come #WBAFC

Sam Allardyce And Rafa Benitez

Sam Field has been instructed to grasp his opportunity if and when it comes as Sam Allardyce continues to assess his West Brom midfield options. Albion have moved out Rekeem Harper and Filip Krovinovic in this January transfer window, but Field has still had precious few look-ins this term; indeed he’s completed 90 minutes in both Carabao Cup games but his last run out was in the defeat at Southampton way back in October. The field has struggled with injuries and Covid, and spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic, so Albion fans haven’t seen him for an extended period since Darren Moore and Jimmy Shan were in charge in 2019.

Sam Allardyce said-“It depends on what we finish within this window. We’ve got quite a few midfield players of course, but Sam I haven’t seen much of because of his injury, How long will it take for Sam to get up to speed, and how do I rate Sam compared to the players who are already here? My judgement has to be very quick and swift in that department. Yes, he is better so I’ll try him, or no he isn’t so I wouldn’t because if they get one chance has one chance. That’s all they’re going to get. We’re in a predicament where by games are ticking by and we need 27 points at least from 18 games. If you get one chance, you can’t slip up. There’ll be no more chances after one. If you prove it, you’ll stay in. If you don’t, we’ll try somebody else to find the right solution. It’s as ruthless as that at this time of the season. I can’t stand on ceremony or ‘in time he’ll be okay’. We haven’t got time – time is running out.”
