Jurgen Kopp has said that midfielder Curtis Jones has learned a ‘lesson’ from the Premier League clash vs West Bromwich Albion. The 19-year-old was partly at fault for Albion ’s equalising goal in the 1-1 draw, playing a poor pass that led to the chance for Semi Ajayi to score from a corner with less than 10 minutes left to play. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, earning the Baggies a valuable point in their fight against relegation. Talking about the youngster ahead of their clash vs Southampton, Klopp has backed him to learn a lesson from his mistake against Sam Allardyce ’s team.

Jurgen Klopp said “This is a very intense period for him and he’s done outstandingly so far. I don’t know what situation we would have been with all the injuries if he wouldn’t have been there. I’m really happy about everything, football players make mistakes or wrong decisions – that can happen, especially when you get tired. That was for sure the case at West Brom. But against Newcastle again, top game and really good player. All good.”
