Brighton head coach Graham Potter has admitted every game is vital for his side, as they prepare to face West Ham on Sunday. The Seagulls sit 17th in the table, just two points and one place above the relegation zone after their 1-1 draw against Sheffield United and with Burnley winning against Wolves on Monday. With games against Arsenal and Wolves to come in the next week, Potter was asked if the game against the Hammers is vital to their season.
Graham Potter said “Well, it seems we go from week to week to games being vital and incredibly important, which is just the language that surrounds the game. All the games are vital, all the games are important that is the truth. We are in the toughest league in the world and we are fighting for every single point. So, when you have that narrative clearly every game is vital and important, and we want to approach the game in that manner. Well he has been important. I think you talk about a player who has a quality both on and off the pitch. He came late to us so everyone is just adjusting to that. But I think his quality is there, I think he will improve the more he is with us and will help the team. I’m sure he would say exactly the same thing. He is one of a number of players that are fighting and we are all together trying to improve our situation. The nature of how he plays, you have to be careful, you don’t want him to be away for a number of weeks. So I am expecting him to be back pretty soon. He’s healing and recovering well.”
