#PremierLeagueStories – #PatrickBamford reveals #MarceloBielsa’s brilliant Christmas gesture to Leeds club staff #LUFC

Patrick Bamford has detailed Marcelo Bielsa’s incredible Christmas generosity to Leeds United club staff. It goes without saying that Christmas is a busy period in football and, with players required to be in training throughout the festive period, it means non-playing staff are also kept away from their family during an important time of the year. Speaking on the official Leeds United podcast, Bamford revealed how Bielsa tries to make sure these staff are included by organising a raffle – with the prize last year being a car.

Patrick Bamford said “I’m tight, I don’t get anyone a present, To be fair, Marcelo actually does a raffle draw, everyone gets a ticket with a number on. It’s not for the players or the physio staff but the staff around the training ground like the people in the kitchen, the ground staff or in the offices. They get a chance to win something. Last year the kit man won a car. It was a Golf or a Fiat or something. I don’t know if Marcelo bought it himself but he does the raffle so I’m presuming so. Us players don’t play any part in it but he does it for the staff to keep them all included. It’s really nice. I’ve never heard of that before so it was brilliant when I saw it.”
