Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed Conor Coady will be available for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ trip to Arsenal. The Wolves skipper missed the 1-1 draw with Southampton, with Nuno naming an XI without the centre-back for the first time since 2017. Coady was left out after he underwent a period of self-isolation following a coronavirus scare while on England duty. That meant Nuno opted to name a back-four, going against what has been seen for the entirety of the Portuguese’s tenure with the club. Wolves travel to Arsenal this weekend and Nuno has confirmed that he will be back in contention at the Emirates.

Nuno Espirito Santo said “He spent so many days in self-isolation, after he made two tests negative, Conor already had the virus, so protocols make it very hard for all the teams. So Conor yes. I think it was a good game, Very intense game, high tempo, both teams, a very good game of football. Southampton is a good team, my first thought is we finished the game very strong. On the front foot, creating, pressing, creating huge problems for Southampton, good chances. We managed the situation well, it’s been many many games with the same shape, the same lines and the reaction was good. The adaptation was very good, it requires character, it requires believing. The boys did that, I’m very proud of them.”
