#PremierLeagueStories – Brighton attacker #AlexisMacAllister talks about difference in English & Aregentinian football #BHAFC

Alexis Mac Allister

Alexis Mac Allister has explained how Albion have got him in the best shape of his life. The Argentina international has even told fans back home how much body fat he has lost due to full-on training sessions. And he has revealed the breakfast which fuels him for the most intense training sessions he has ever faced. Mac Allister hopes to start increasing his Premier League minutes and would love that to help him regain his place in the national team squad. He has been supporting Leo Messi and company from afar during the current international break after being left out.

Alexis Mac Allister said “The biggest difference between here and Argentina is in the training. When I was there (in Argentina), I had no idea of how important it was to work on the strength in your legs. In the English league, the physical aspect is important. You always have to be at 100%. Training sessions are short but very intense. When I got here, I realised the physical condition I had wouldn’t be enough to allow me to play here. I always ate normally and looked after myself but here it is another level physically, football-wise and tactically. It’s a very tough league and I love the way we train. We have a day off in the middle of the week and that doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world. They have the concept of not training too much but, when you do, it’s full-on.”
