Graham Potter Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Graham Potter has praised Maty Ryan for his response to being dropped for the 2-1 defeat to Spurs. The 28-year-old was left on the bench against Tottenham at the beginning of the month, with young keeper Robert Sanchez being given his Premier League debut. Potter explained the reason for not starting Ryan was to give him a ‘breather’. The Australian international returned to the starting eleven in the 0-0 draw against Burnley at the Amex a week ago on Friday. Ryan did have a nervy start to the game after misjudging a cross from Matthew Lowton, which looped over him and came back off the bar.

Graham Potter said “I thought Maty was really good I thought he had an extra bit to his game. We were happy with the decision we made by giving Maty a breather in the last match. And I thought it was a fantastic response from him.”
