Former Aston Villa coach Roy Keane has lavished praise on Jack Grealish. The Villa captain shone on his second start for England last night, setting up Jadon Sancho’s goal in a 3-0 friendly defeat of the Republic of Ireland. Grealish was handed a start by England boss Gareth Southgate after the build-up was dominated by talk of the ex-Villa defender’s supposed preference for playing Mason Mount over the 25 year-old. The pair both started last night, paving the way maybe for the duo to combine in England teams going forward. Keane, who worked with Grealish during his spell as Paul Lambert’s assistant manager in 2014, has predicted a bright future for the player.
Roy Keane said “We are always questioning about his end product, that has improved over the last six months, It was a cushy night for him. It was his second start, this guy is going on to great things, no doubt in my mind. Jack has said his experience coming into the England squad, working with top players, you cannot beat it. You talk about coaching, I think sometimes you learn more from working with better players and we can see that, even from a couple of appearances he has had for England.”
