#PremierLeagueStories – #DavidMoyes hails the impact of #PabloFornal on the Hammers upturn in form #WHUFC

Pablo Fornals

David Moyes has sung the praises of Pablo Fornals as the Spaniard has been nominated for the Premier League player of the month award for October. The 25-year-old has been a permanent fixture in the Hammers side since Moyes took over at the club 11 months ago to replace Manuel Pellegrini who was sacked after a disastrous run of two wins in 12 matches. Fornals certainly divides opinion but he is a favourite of Moyes. Fornals has scored twice so far this season and bagged two assists but has also missed plenty of chances to score more. However, his workrate and what he is doing on the defensive side of the game is what has impressed Moyes and the Hammers coaching staff the most as he holds down a spot on the left hand side of the front three.

David Moyes said “I think he’s done a great job, As you can see we select him regularly, we select him because of his commitment, his attitude, his reliability and he’s grown on us a lot. There’s things we would like him to improve. We want him to make better final passes, we want him to score more, but I can think he’s become a really important part [of the team]. But he’s in competition as well and there’s people around him who will be pushing him hard. That’s what we want. We want a squad of players who we can change for different opportunities. Fornals can play one or two different roles for us as well and he’s happy to do that, so that’s why he’s become really valuable for us.”
