Arsenal star Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been discussing his decision to stay at Arsenal.
The England international was linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium before the transfer window shut earlier this month with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Premier League rivals Manchester United both linked.
Brighton and Hove Albion have also been credited with an interest in the 23 year-old, who has made two starts in the Premier League so far this season.
Maitland-Niles has revealed how talks with Arteta convinced him to remain in North London beyond the ending of the transfer window.
The 23 year-old was in and out of Arsenal’s starting XI under Unai Emery and then Arteta last season but has began the season in fine form and handed an England debut for his hard work.

Maitland-Niles, who can play on the wing and in midfield, was linked with Wolves last month and Nuno Espirito Santo ‘s side reportedly bid around £15 million for the player as they looked to replace Matt Doherty who joined Tottenham Hotspur.
In the end Wolves moved for Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo.
“There was a lot of speculation going around about that,” he replied when asked if there was a chance he could have left.
“But ultimately I chose to stay at the club, which I love. I am happy with my decision and I am sure the manager is happy that I stayed as well.

“It is just about cracking on now and focusing on the games ahead.
“I just had my head focused on football and just trying to play well, keep myself healthy.
“When I get my time on the pitch I just do what the manager asks me to do. I wasn’t really focused on any of the speculation going on.”
