#PremierLeagueStories – Former West Brom & Aston Villa players criticise Wolves’ heavy loss against West Ham #WWFC

Former West Brom and Manchester United midfield Darren Fletcher believes Wolves ’ fabled defence was ‘bullied’ and ‘beaten up’ by West Ham. The Scot identified the key performances of Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen as key to the Hammers 4-0 thrashing of Nuno Espirito Santo’s team. Fletcher, who spent two-and-a-half years at Wolves’ arch-rivals Albion, did not hold back. Meanwhile, former Newcastle & Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas who also played for another of the Wolves’ local rivals Aston Villa for a short time, criticised the midlands side’s performance and said the selling Diogo Jota and Matt Doherty this summer will have its impact on the balance of this wolves team.

Darren Fletcher said “Even players like Conor Coady who has been fantastic for Wolves had a real tough day today, Antonio has bullied them, beaten them up, What I love about him is his composure. Bowen is a goal scoring right winger, gets himself into dangerous areas and really should have got himself a hat-trick. West Ham won 4-0, it good have been more but Bowen will be disappointed he didn’t get a hat-trick.”

Jermaine Jenas said “That back three of Wolves are happy to see the back of these two. Jarrod Bowen in front of goal is really starting to mature at West Ham. Boly is not slow [but] Antonio showed him a clean pair of heels, ghosted by him, this was a regular appearance, you can see how angry Patricio is getting. He was stronger than them, it was a tough evening all round for the Wolves back three. I always felt when they let Doherty go and Jota going to Liverpool it was going to unsettle them. I just think it is going to take  a little bit more time to adjust to that but I do not worry about Wolves at all they are going to be up there at the end of the season.”
