Chelsea has arguably has had the best transfer window amongst all the premier league clubs this summer. And the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig is seen as a coup considering a host of clubs in England and Europe were vying for his signature. And there were reports that Frank Lampard called the attacked before he signed for the west London club in order to convince him to come to Stamford Bridge. Now Lampard has given an insight on why it was important for him to speak to the German.
Frank Lampard said: “You understand that when there is competition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, that you need to state your best case to the player. Having been that player at one point, I tried to sell the club to the best of my ability when I spoke to players. Petr (Cech, Chelsea’s technical director) in his role does the same.”
