Max Kilman has had his Wolverhampton Wanderers contract extended. The young defender has broken into the first-team reckoning at Molineux under Nuno, but his contract was due to expire this coming summer. Kilman, 22, has agreed new terms and will remain at the club until at least the summer of 2022, the Express and Star reports.
Kilman arrived from non-league Maidenhead United a couple of years ago, and his development has provided Nuno with another option in his defensive department. Nuno rates him so highly that he permitted Ryan Bennett a loan away from Molineux in January; the experienced centre half made for Leicester City, with Nuno feeling he could call upon Kilman if necessary. He’s remained a bit part player in the league since, however, behind regulars Willy Boly, Conor Coady and utility man Romain Saiss.
The centre-half made his first Premier League start in December, in the 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield United, and has gone on to make 11 appearances in all competitions this season – including a regular berth in Wanderers ’ Europa League campaign.
