Cardiff City have confirmed that they have signed defender Dion Sanderson on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season. Sanderson has made just one appearances for Wolves during his career at Molineux. That came earlier this season, playing 90 minutes in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the League Cup. The 20-year-old has also featured on the bench twice for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in his senior career so far.

Dion Sanderson can play as a centre-half, right-back or right-wing-back and has been a regular for the under-23s over the past couple of seasons.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed that Willy Boly was fit and as promised , he was  in the squad against Manchester United on Saturday. The Frenchman has been out since October with a broken fibula but he is back to bolster Wanderers’ defensive options ahead of the trip to Old Trafford.

Nuno Espirito Santo  said “Willy is an important player, but during his absence we have been able to find solutions, so having him back gives us one more solution for what we want for the future. I was happy (in his absence). I think we performed well and due to the circumstances, I thought we performed really well. Now they are both ready and it is good to have them back both fit.”

Boly’s return, together what that of Jota, who made his comeback from injury last week, gives Nuno a full compliment of players to choose from – with numbers also boosted by new signing Daniel Podence.

Wolverhampton Wanderers officially confirmed the signing of Ecuador international Leonardo Campana during the January transfer window and the forward, formerly of Barcelona SC, has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Nuno Espirito Santo said “He can give us good options, he’s a solution. He fits in the profile that we think we should do in this transfer window; bring players that can help us and make us stronger as a team. He fits in to our idea of the game. Before we bring someone in we have to analyse and look to see whether they fit. If it’s a good fit and it is possible, you bring.”

19-year-old talent was Nuno Espirito Santo’s first signing of January transfer  window.

Wolves player Ruben Neves believes ‘unstoppable’ Wolves team-mate Adama Traore can be one of the best players in the world.

Ruben Neves said: “No doubt about it (he’s the fastest player I’ve played with). He’s really fast, really strong and I think he is growing a lot. When he first came in last season I think he needed to think a little bit better about the game. Now he is improving on that part the game and it is amazing. If he can make good decisions and sometimes play with more calmness, for me he could be one of the best players in the world because he is unstoppable.”

Neves has been impressed by winger Traore’s development since he made the switch from Middlesbrough in 2018.
