The Eagles spent less than £5m in the summer despite receiving £50m from the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United. Roy Hodgson who normally remains calm and composed, expressed his frustration over the club’s lack of transfer dealings. Following the 1-0 defeat to Derby in the FA Cup, the former England manager suggested that “nothing changes” in regards to the south Londoners’ business in the market.

Roy Hodgson said “Since the summer transfer window we are looking to sign at least one, possibly two strikers, and two full-backs. Nothing changes. I said it a year ago, I said it in the summer, I say it again”

There is still plenty of time left in the winter window to get reinforcements in, although it appears as if Hodgson has already began to lose his patience over Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman’s work behind the scenes.
