Lucas Digne hopes to carry Everton performances to Euro 2020

Having missed out on the 2018 World Cup in Russia which France won, Lucas Digne hopes his club form will carry him to next year’s European Championship finals.
Digne stressed the physical demands and the pace of the Premier League together with the advanced role demanded of him by Marco Silva has having forced him to develop his game . He said ” I had to adapt quickly to the intensity, the physical impact, playing forward quickly and repeating high-intensity effort. I am asked to be very offensive but this involves defensively many one-on-one duels because the matches are very open. This is the championship that suits me best. I have more fun playing every weekend. The hardest thing is to constantly play at a very high level. This is what happens to the big players. The key to this is to take care of yourself, to be vigilant about recovery, especially when playing two games in 48 hours like on Boxing Day. This mainly involves food and sleep.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: Lucas had previous spells in his native France, Italy and Spain.Lucas Digne is currently involved with the France squad… but still hurt and confused at his World Cup omission at the expense of Benjamin Mendy. It will remain unknown for a while whether decision to switch from Barcelona to Everton was driven by the fact that Digne wanted to play regularly in his club team as instructed by national coach “Didier Deschamps”.

English Premier League club West Ham United are reportedly not eager to hand manager Manuel Pellegrini a massive budget to spend in the January transfer window.
Pellegrini finds himself in a sticky situation which puts him under immense pressure and the club insiders have revealed that they won’t grant him funds to find a solution for the turmoil at the club. The Hammers want the Argentine tactician to find a way of using his current squad in order to produce the best results as they believe current squad has enough quality to remain in English Premier League rather than heading for relegation. in English Premier League rather than heading for relegation. Pellegrini has spent more than £150million since taking over in east London, and broke the club’s transfer record by signing striker Sebastian Haller this summer for £36m. There were also some skirmish as Manuel Pellegrini went against the board’s wishes by pushing for a deal to sign Jack Wilshere on a three-year contract in the summer of 2018. Hammers board foresaw those problems. They suggest that they were only prepared to offer Wilshere a one-year deal. But Pellegrini was adamant that the midfielder be offered a three-year contract.

Manuel Pellegrini was a dream manager signing that promised the world, the milky way and maybe even a pathway to a better life away from West Ham’s disappointment with team and moving the stadiums. Pelligrini was a Premier League-winning manager, the man that broke the Barcelona/Real Madrid duopoly with Villarreal and took Malaga to the Champions League for the first time all the while playing fluid and aesthetically pleasing football. Pellegrini is currently against the wall as they have tricky fixtures coming up as West Ham play against Tottenham Hotspur after the international break followed by matches against Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal. This can be a make or break period for Pellegrini’s future with the club.

Danny Ings has backed his Southampton team mate – Che Adams to be the ‘outstanding’ summer signing at St Mary’s. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side fought off competition from a whole host of Premier League rivals to sign Adams over the summer for £15 million as he had seen Adams scoring 22 Championship goals for Birmingham City in previous season.
Danny Ings said “He believes in his own ability and it’s an ability that’s been proved by the amount of goals he scored last year. He knows where the goal is. When you sometimes come to a new club, getting that first goal can be tricky. I remember when I first came up to the Premier League with Burnley, it took me a long time to score my first goal, so that can happen. Che is an outstanding goalscorer. He is a nightmare for defenders and the goals will come. Che is very hungry to play. You can see it. He is strong, powerful and quick.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: We had previously stated in our blog about tough conditions that Premier League provides for a striker to join and immediately start performing full guns blazing. The 22-year-old striker was tipped for a move to St. Mary’s during January of this year – which unfortunately fell through due to the two clubs being unable to agree a fee. But with Southampton clearing out deadwood to raise funds, Che became their marquee signing to play as a front striker with Danny Ings as a backup… However, things have not worked out for Adams just yet, as the former Sheffield United star is yet to score for his new club and has recently lost his place to Danny Ings in the starting line-up.
