Premier League Headlines ( In Details )

VAR to undergo some instant surgery

After more than a quarter of premier league season over, the most inconsistent performer is not a club, player or manager but the rules being used to govern referee decisions and the help provided by technology or referee using technology to make decisions. More questions continue to pour in about the blunders in refereeing decisions and Premier League chief is finally intervening to save the negative publicity which is damaging the popularity of the league.

A meeting has been called between the premier league chiefs and referees to assess how the introduction of the technology has gone in the first two months of the season. It is believed there will be a particular focus on the games played at the weekend, in which there were a number of controversial VAR interventions. What is hoped is the talks will give referees a chance to air their views on how the implementation of VAR has gone and decide how the use of the technology can be improved. The meeting could also discuss the possibility of referees being able to use the pitchside VAR monitors. As things stand, the on-pitch referees are unable to view replays of incidents on the monitors in a bid to minimize delays to games. After 100 Premier League matches of the season so far, there have only been a total of 26 overturned decisions and the chairman’s from each of the 20 clubs are set to discuss whether or not the monitor policy should be changed.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have been shocked by the negative impact made by VAR on the season so far. Those paying fans in the stadium are unhappy with what is shown on the LIVE screen which confuses them about the decisions, apart from the technology flaws that show wrong decisions on big screen. Fans at home are bewildered how referee decisions are inconsistent in judging fouls in 18 yard box leading to penalties and players just don’t know whether to celebrate their goals or not. Premier League has taken 25+ years to form an image of passion, emotions and joy for everyone involved globally and should evaluate their decisions carefully.

Newcastle is not all Doom and Gloom yet

Despite Steve Bruce cutting a frustrated figure after the stalemate with Wolves, Newcastle fans are getting comfort with number of club players in talks about extending their contracts.

This week goalkeeper Martin Dubravka signed a new long-term deal with the club. Newcastle had previously handed six-year contracts to Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin last summer. Newcastle handed six-year contracts to Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin last summer and the Magpies have now secured another key asset until 2025. That sends the right message after a summer of uncertainty. Isaac Hayden, whose contract runs out in 2021, was wondering what was going to happen next when Benitez left the club but was encouraged by the business the club did. Now Steve Bruce is focussing much more confidently than start of the season to improve player performance on the pitch especially after he felt his players got drawn into a defensive mentality when they were 1-0 up and this eventually allowed the visitors back in the game.

Steve Bruce is also looking forward to having his defense improve with centre back Florian Lejeune who has returned to full training after a long-term knee injury and could be in contention to be in the squad for next premier league match.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  PREMIER LEAGUE FANS visiting Newcastle upon Tyneside will quickly realize how much city and Magpies love their club. Not only do they have a stadium at the heart of city center but also they are most loyal , supporting their team despite some relegation , unpredictable owners and some inconsistent transfer business. For all the mayhem off the pitch, the club supporters deserve their loudest cheered team to remain in the top competition of England for years to come.

Manchester United’s flops are getting their tails up again

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can’t help but praise Brazilian midfielder Fred for his wonderful display most recently against Norwich but also previous Sunday against Liverpool. The manager believes Fred formed a strong bond with Scott McTominay at the middle of the pitch and he was full of energy throughout the encounter.

Ole said “Fred was excellent with Scotty. The two of them in the last two games, Liverpool and this one. Delighted for Fred, he’s had a tough time but he’s just improving and improving and he’ll be important for us because we’ve got some injuries. McTominay also showered praise on the Brazil international as he said “Fred was brilliant today[on Sunday], we are working as a pair and getting more and more understanding as a midfield two. So I thought he was great and he should get credit for his performance.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: It has to be credited despite 2 years of continuous critics comments and even his manager’s not trusting enough, Fred has remained silent positive and finally starting to show why Manchester United went all out to purchase him. PREMIER LEAGUE fans hope Fred  to maintain his recent form after getting such impressive remarks from his teammate and the boss.

Southampton players identify problem with their performance ( It’s not them )

Southampton players believe the sudden departure of assistant manager Danny Rohl has been a key factor in the club’s alarming slide into the relegation zone after he exited the club to join Bayern Munich in August.

Rohl played a key role following Hasenhuttl’s appointment last December – the pair successfully leading the club to Premier League safety. The coach had a hands on role during training, with players largely enjoying his sessions. But his unexpected departure in the summer has impacted significantly on the team’s preparations for games, according to sources. Hasenhuttl has been left to shoulder much of the burden during training since Rohl’s departure and there’s a concern among the squad that they are missing their former coach’s influence.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  While PREMIER LEAGUE FANS adore manager’s and first team coaches, it has to be highlighted what role assistant manager’s play and their importance being vital to manager’s performance. When Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointment, he immediately appointed Mike Phelan as his assistant. Similarly Pep after coming to England, quickly poached Arteta to join him on coaching despite the player having few more seasons to give to his manager’s . Jose Mourinho and Rui Faria is another one and the list goes on..
