Premier League Headlines ( In Details )

How Christian Pulisic has become alive in Chelsea

Pulisic had found it hard to break into Frank Lampard’s starting lineup and the 21-year-old has seemed overwhelmed since joining Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund. The pressure to show that American footballers are capable of succeeding at the top level is enormous and Lampard had kept his American asset  railed against the unforgiving glare on Pulisic, an undemonstrative character burdened with more hype than any player in his nation’s history.

Pulisic has had to endure a sometimes frustrating wait for his chance but said he had never expected to walk straight into the Chelsea team. His words were “I wanted to be on the field as much as I could right from the start. That is everyone’s goal. But I didn’t come here expecting everything to be easy and have an easy route and start every game. It’s not always that easy. So I came in had to work for my spot just like everyone does. I’m proud of the journey I’ve had so far. Coach believes in me and he’s told me that. You have to keep working hard in training and earn my spot, that’s how it is at the highest level. I’m going to continue to do so. This is hopefully just the start.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: Given the price tag on his head, there was a degree of pressure on Pulisic when he arrived at Stamford Bridge just as Eden Hazard was leaving for Real Madrid. Lampard never saw the American as a direct replacement, but believes that alongside Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and others, he could ensure the club do not miss the Belgian too much. Unfortunately for Pulisic, PREMIER LEAGUE FANS were still missing magic of Hazard and immediate comparisons started happening with Pulisic since Chelsea could not buy any replacements due to transfer window ban.

Where should Bournemouth improve ?

Bournemouth Eddie Howe has urged his side to start taking their chances after they drew a blank in a goalless draw at Watford. The Cherries had 15 shots – five on target – at Vicarage Road but could not find the net and have now failed to score in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since December 2017.

Eddie Howe said “Similar to last week we didn’t quite get the final bit right but in terms of an attacking display it was a better all-round performance. The beauty of it is we are improving defensively and I’ve had that feeling all season, we’re getting better from a structure and confidence thing. But it’s a two-way thing with the attacking and we’ll have to go away and improve that.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have appreciated Eddie Howe and his attacking style of football . Focus was always put on his team’s defensive frailties where the manager was unable to control the goals conceded especially against clubs in top half of the league. It’s difficult to understand whether Bournemouth have finally managed to organize their defense well or thinking too much on backline has made striking department less confident.

Tale of 2 managers at Brighton FC & Everton

#Silvaout was once again trending on Twitter. Bullish pre-season talk and plenty of investment led many Evertonians to believe that this was the season to crash the top-six party. They still might but, with a meagre 10 points from as many games, Marco Silva’s side are in the bottom, not top, six.

Everton supporters calling for change may be casting envious glances towards the Amex Stadium, where Graham Potter is bringing about a new culture and playing style with the early signs encouraging. Appreciative of his achievements but increasingly restless with Chris Hughton’s more pragmatic approach, Brighton gambled and went for a man untested at the highest level. Should the Goodison hierarchy make a change, then an equally bold appointment may be needed if they are to truly disrupt the Premier League pecking order.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have to take note of some brave managerial decisions by clubs outside top 6 which have made them relevant again. Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham, Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City are some of the examples which have brought revolution at the club and this season their teams are capable of gate crashing into top 6 occupied by the big clubs of ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE. To be fair to Everton, their management did not remain satisfied with Ronald Koeman or Big Sam. They poached Marco Silva from Watford for playing attractive and result oriented football. Unfortunately , marriages are not made in heaven and so are premier league managers chances for their clubs.

Role of Ederson in Manchester City’s lineup

Ederson produced an outrageous one-handed tip to deny Christian Benteke and thwarted Wilfried Zaha from close range, both in the final moments of last week’s win agains Crystal Palace.

Pep Guardiola insisted Ederson’s sweeper style is valuable to Manchester City. The coach says “Ederson is almost like an outfield player in a position that I recognize as one of the most important on the pitch. Yes he saves shots and keeps the ball, but he is also so important in starting attacks and retaining possession. He’s one of the best in world football in those respects. I must say Ederson is not just valued for his role in creating goals. He’s just as good at stopping them. His hands are fantastic as well, and he’s not often given credit for that,. He has made some big saves in big games that have sometimes gone unnoticed, particularly against Napoli when he denied Jose Callejon just before Sergio Agüero’s goal. Obviously Agüero got the headlines but Ederson was responsible for that key moment. He is also very positive when coming off his line for crosses and corners, and when dealing with set-plays. He has a super positive outlook in that respect which ultimately rubs off on the defence and the rest of the team. He is quick and has a very good spring — all of those basics he gets right.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have to highlight  unique circumstances in which Ederson walked into his current club Manchester City. Before he joined, Joe Hart — a favorite of Al Mubarak’s ( The club owner’s ) was discarded  in favour of Claudio Bravo which ultimately proved to be a disaster. A series of high-profile gaffes ruined the confidence of a man with Champions League and Club World Cup medals on his mantelpiece, with his indecision and poor form spreading to City’s defence — in particular £50m arrival John Stones. Bravo was eventually dropped for Willy Caballero, as City slumped to an underwhelming third-place finish. In these circumstances, any player can quickly become nervous or overwhelmed by occasion but Ederson has not.

Relationship between Sheffield United and Eddie Howe

A glowing reference from Eddie Howe helped persuade him Sheffield United to add Lys Mousset to their squad for 2019/2020 season. Two goals in a week which included winner against Arsenal – means the 23-year-old has already made his mark at his new club.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder said “Eddie Howe at Bournemouth told me how good Lys is – he just didn’t get an opportunity because of their other strikers,. Sometimes there comes a time for a player when he’s been at a club and can’t see things changing that he has to move on. He was kept out of the team by Callum Wilson and Josh King, two of the best strikers in the division, so his opportunities there were very limited.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  Eddie Howe has done fantastic job in creating a talented attacking line up at Bournemouth. When the strikers are firing all cylinders, it’s difficult to notice beyond them on talent sitting at bench, equally talented but unlucky to not play week in week out.  PREMIER LEAGUE FANS would like to thank Eddie Howe on helping to retain a premium asset to the league who is finally getting chance to play and show his strengths.
