Premier League Headlines ( In Details )

Hawk-Eye Innovations apologizes for VAR screen error at Tottenham draw

VAR was at the centre of attention once again with technology effectively deciding the outcomes of a number of matches in Saturday’s the Premier League matches.

Dele Alli was on hand to net a 86th-minute equaliser for Tottenham in their 1-1 draw with Watford. Alli earned his side a point after Hornets keeper Ben Foster made a mess of a cross which allowed Alli to control the ball with his shoulder and fire home from a tight angle. The goal was reviewed by VAR and it was decided to award the goal with referee Chris Kavanagh signalling for the players to head back to the centre circle. It was decided that Alli’s goal did not hit his hand so it was therefore allowed to stand. However, the big screen indicated that the decision was “no goal” which triggered huge celebrations in the Watford end and confused faces from everyone else either inside the stadium or watching on. Kavanagh looked confused with the on-screen call too but after another quick check with his VAR assistant via his headset, he confirmed the goal had been awarded.

Hawk-Eye Innovations – The company that provides the Premier League’s video assistant referee (VAR) technology has apologised to Tottenham and Watford fans after an incorrect graphic was sent to the big screen They said “We are working with PGMOL and the Premier League to understand the root cause of this issue and to suggest measures to ensure it does not happen again”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  We have heard glitches in software industry when a new module is released or big transformation is rolled out to users. However, seeing this in stadium and over television with million+ PREMIER LEAGUE FANS across the world is spectacular.

Dean Smith Insists John McGinn Will Stay at Aston Villa

John McGinn had played an integral part in Aston Villa’s 2018/19 promotion campaign, and has impressed so far this season, scoring three goals in his eight starts. But Dean Smith has warned off the Premier League heavyweights eying up his star man.  Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has said the club have no intention of selling John McGinn, amid rumours linking Manchester United with their talismanic midfielder. The Scottish midfielder was linked with a move to Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side over the summer, and these rumours have intensified as McGinn has effortlessly made the step up from the Championship to the Premier League.

Smith said: “The big clubs can come calling but they’ll get a short, swift reply. He’s a player we want here at Aston Villa. Villa had previously valued their number seven at £50m, but now no amount of money can prise McGinn away from Villa Park. His value shot up from the moment he stepped out onto the Villa Park pitch and showed just what a player he is. He has an unbelievable energy level and a big, big heart, but people don’t see the technical side of it as well – he’s got that in abundance. He’s a really top player and pivotal to us getting promoted last season. He’s continued that form in the Premier League and his value would have certainly shot up.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  There was a time when small clubs were easy preys to the top clubs but in current decade that has changed. With big money being given to all clubs and TV finances coming in huge proportions, there is no need for small clubs to sell their stars. Dean Smith may add a big “if” on whether Aston Villa will survive in English Premier League to allow McGinn to entertain PREMIER LEAGUE FANS

Frank Lampard says ‘A Lot More to Come’

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard said on Saturday he was “delighted” with Christian Pulisic’s performance off the bench for the Blues in their 1-0 Premier League win over Newcastle United.

Pulisic should get a a much-needed boost from his performance against Newcastle and words from his manager. Pulisic had a tough start to life at Chelsea following his summer switch from Borussia Dortmund. He only started three of Chelsea’s nine Premier League matches and said in September it was “very frustrating” being on the bench after not featuring in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  Christian Pulisic comes from great country United States Of America. While soccer is still raw and under developed in the country , a native player excites his nation and carries a lot of scrutiny especially if playing with a big club. Last memorable ones being “Clint Dempsey”, “Brad Friedel” , “Tim Howard” and “Landon Donovan”. PREMIER LEAGUE FANS  love the global visibility and wish the best to American beauty 🙂

Jamie Vardy mocked with chants

Jamie Vardy had the last laugh after he was mocked by Burnley fans in Leicester’s 2-1 win at the King Power Stadium. Vardy was taunted by visiting fans in his first game since wife Rebekah hit the headlines after Colleen Rooney accused her Instagram account of leaking stories about her to the press.

Burnley supporters chanted: “Jamie Vardy, your wife is a grass” at the Leicester striker in reference to the incident. But the England ace silenced his critics by scoring an equaliser on the stroke of half-time as Leicester came from behind to claim a 2-1 win to move up to second in the Premier League table. After his goal, Vardy celebrated by running up to the Burnley fans and cupping his ears as he had the last laugh.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  Skip any comments. This match was about paying tribute to late owner of Leicester City, a respectable fan who will live forever in memories of PREMIER LEAGUE FANS.

Tottenham’s crisis continues

The one thing that does not seem to have deserted Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham stumble and falter is a spot of luck. With his side looking certain to be slipping to another wretched defeat, a comical mix-up in the Watford defense combined with VAR confusion , stadium goof up’s  allowed Dele Alli in for a late equalizer.

Tottenham’s performance  suggested that none of the issues that have plagued them this season have been rectified. Stolid, unimaginative, lacking in vision, it was as poor a league showing as the new Tottenham Stadium can have witnessed. When the architects boasted the new Tottenham Stadium had the best sound projection in world sport, the noise they had not imagined echoing round the place was that of dissent. But at half-time the boos rang loud. At the end ,  when Spurs had a lucky equalizer, Quique Flores was reduced to giggling about the laughable process, Pochettino could breath again and the club continues in crisis until at least next weekend’s meeting with Liverpool.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have learnt a lot not just about the Tottenham team but also how a Sir Alex Ferguson juggernaut had been managed for not 3,4,5 but 23 years of premier league seasons. Never letting his team get complacent, constantly refreshing the squad and keeping his players challenges towards the top honors.. If Pochettino needs to learn how to manage a big club, this is his playground to rectify mistakes and move on.
