• Graeme Souness Delighted and Frustrated at the same time for Rob Jones

Graeme Souness was delighted with the news that Rob Jones was definitely going to play England In the world cup qualifier but he had mixed emotions about the one-match ban his defended had been handed after being sent off at Coventry, even though Jones could have easily been handed a two-match suspension. The red card Jones received was first of his career and that resulted in Coventry going on to win the match 1-0.

Graeme Souness said “I can’t say I am relieved at the news, because I didn’t think Jones should have been sent off in the first place. But I suppose it could have been worse.”
