Liverpool manager Graeme Souness was full of praise for young right-back Rob Jones after England recall

Reds’ boss Graeme Souness was full of praise for his right-back Rob Jones, who had earned a deserved recall to England squad for their world cup qualifier with Poland at Wembley. Jones was Liverpool’s man of the match against Leeds and Souness said that he was delighted for his player’s hard work getting rewarded.

Graeme Souness said “Rob is back to the form which got him into the England squad last time. He has all the ability to become another Phil Neal. Neal had great attitude and was a great professional. Rob is in the same category. What many of the supporters may not realize is that he is a young lad who had comfortably handled the move from the lower divisions to becoming a high profile player. He is the same boy now as he was when he first walked through the door at Anfield. You don’t get every signing right but I am very delighted with this one.”
