Steve McManaman

Liverpool manager Graeme Souness heaped praised on his England under 21 international who was in great form that season and said that the whole team should try and get McManaman into the game a lot more to increase their chances of winning the match.

Graeme Souness said “Steve has been outstanding in his last couple of games. We were screaming the other night for the ball to be passed to him more often. When a player is flying like that you have to give him the service and i felt that’s where we fell down against Spurs. It’s the same team going forward too because in the first half our football was different class. We were playing as well as anything I have seen – our only problem was the killer ball.”
