Glenn Hoddle may have left for the greener pastures of Chelsea but his principles were still alive at Swindon Town and their manager John Gorman had warned their much fancies opponents Liverpool to expect a surprise when the David vs goliath would meet later that week.

John Gorman said “We might surprise a few people. Liverpool have made a tremendous start to the season and we are well aware of the task we are facing. But the good thing isthat they are likely to give us the chance to get the ball down and play a bit.”
