As Aston Villa was preparing for a match against Oldham where anything but a win would effectively end their slim premier league title hopes, ex Oldham star Earl Barrett admitted to having mixed emotions about playing against his old side where a win for his current team may relegate his old employers.

Earl Barrett said “It’s a crucial game for both teams. I will be upset if my old club is to go down but I can’t afford to have any sympathies. We are still in with a chance of the title and we have to look at three points, regardless of Oldham’s position. We have two games to go, all we can do is to win them and Hope United slip up. The result against Blackburn was terrible but hopefully they can help us on Monday by beating United. United wouldn’t fancy having to get a result at Selhurst Park because Wimbledon can spoil any party.”
