#PLHistory #premierleaguestories #PL on April 26 1993 – #PaulInce Compared #PaulGascoigne with #EricCantona but said Manchester United #MUFC has more star players than England

Paul Ince

Paul Gascoigne “Gazza” was expected to get an all-clear for England’s world cup qualifier against Holland at Wembley and that news delighted his international teammate and Manchester United star Paul Ince to no end. Ince compared Gazza to United’s star player Eric Cantona but admitted that England did not have enough top quality star players that his club side had.

Paul Ince said “Gazza is as important to England as Eric Cantona is to Manchester United. He gives us an extra dimension. He’s like Eric – he can give us that bit of magic when we need it to unlock defenses. In the England team, apart from John Barnes there is no one else that can do that. At United, you also have Sharpe, Giggs and others who can provide that. But England have just one or may be two, that is why Gazza is very important.”
