Manchester City star Nial Quinn said in an interview that everyone at Maine Road badly wanted Aston Villa to lift the title over their bitter neighbours Manchester United. But also admitted that the results from the prior week would make it nearly impossible for that to happen.
Nial Quinn said “I make no secret of the fact that we at City would prefer to see Villa lift the title. But with last week’s results that look to be long odds. Last year United’s players looked strained and under pressure in a similar situation. This year they are smiling and laughing during the game. Mind you, two sets of supporters at least, at Villa and City will be praying for a miracle to happen. But I am afraid this time round, their prayers wont be answered.”
