Kenny Dalglish’s decision to quit Liverpool was proved correct by the day as Liverpool had struggled a lot that season whereas Blackburn were building one of the best squads in the country. But the former Liverpool player and the manager were full of praise for his club as Blackburn were ready to welcome Liverpool that week in the premier league.
Kenny Dalglish said “When we were in the second division last season, a lot of teams took great pleasure in beating Blackburn Rovers and I am sure they still do. But when you are talking about the likes of Liverpool’s and Manchester United’s, you are talking about a different level. Liverpool has been playing cup finals for20 years and they will be playing one soon I am sure. I saw Liverpool play QPR recently and they hammered them. That night they were the far better side and they looked very good.”
