Graham Stuart’s 81st-minute goal made it a happy homecoming to Stamford bridge for the new manager David Webb as Chelsea gained their first win in 14 matches and continued Arsenal’s English Premier league anguish.

Arsenal looked like the team to score the goal but Chelsea keeper Dave Beasant made some amazing saves who had come back to the side after being left out of the squad by the previous manager Ian Porterfield. He had been sent out on loans at Grimsby and Wolves but the new managed had reposed his faith in the keeper and repeat rich dividends for it.
